ARTring is an annual celebration of bold design and craftsmanship showcasing masterful creations from 30+ unique designers. The ARTring event is hosted in the gallery from November to January. Each ARTring comes with a dedicated Story Card featuring a sketch and quote from the designer.
The An Portàn Art Ring by Eily O'Connell is a one-of-a-kind statement ring inspired by the Irish word for crab. At its heart lies a striking, hand-cut lab-grown sapphire from Bristol, accented with faceted and raw diamonds, and vibrant blue enamel, coming together to create a truly mesmerising, wearable homage to the deep sea’s magic and mystery.
Eily says about her Art Ring:
"AN PORTÀN RING. ‘An Portàn’ is the Irish name for a crab. The title and sense of the ring, echoes a portal. The glitch like hand cut sapphire has the magic to transport you far away. Entering the vast deep and into another oceanic dimension. Glistening diamonds and enamel are like sunken treasure, swallowed by coral on the sea floor."
