Please note, this is a one-of-a-kind ring made for our ARTring 2021 exhibition. ARTring is an annual celebration of bold design and craftmanship showcasing masterful creations from over 40 unique designers. The ARTring event is hosted in the gallery from November to January. Each ARTring comes with a dedicated Story Card featuring a sketch and quote from the designer.
Established in 2014 by San Francisco based jeweler and independent designer Megan Rugani, Maiden Voyage is an ever evolving collection of fine jewelry that values the singular nature of bespoke and the hand of the artist. Hand engraving, a meticulous and time consuming art that became niche and antiquated with the rise of mass production, is resurrected and used with a modern voice.
Megan says about her art ring:
"This signet ring is adorned with Ananke, the mythical snake-like personification of Fate who was present when the cosmic egg hatched and created the universe. In the centre is Black Australian Opal to represent the galaxy and its dark matter and stars. "
