Silver Irregular Treen Hoops by Emily Nixon. Large, irregular silver hoops. Not an exact pair, they are smoothed to a sea tumbled finish, timeless treasures in recycled, refined sterling silver. Inspired by the ocean, these rustic and organically textured hoops are created and cast in Cornwall using the traditional lost-wax process.
Constant experimentation, playfulness and development of ideas, alongside a mindfulness of the relationship each piece has with the wearer, drives Emily's creative process and output. The dichotomy of the precious and the organic – special stones encircled by sea-worn fragments of gold – characterises so much of her inspiration. At the heart of Emily Nixon's work remains the sculpture and tapestry of her early fine art practice.
